Cancellation Policy
At Chi BioEnergetic Healing, I understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise in life. In my commitment to maintaining fairness and efficiency for all clients as well as myself, I have established the following policies:
Appointment Reminders: A helpful email reminder will be sent 72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment, followed by a text reminder 48 hours in advance. Please note that the text reminder serves as your final opportunity to cancel without incurring a fee.
Cancellation Notice: Your appointment time is exclusively set aside for you. A late cancellation or missed visit creates a gap in the therapists' schedule that could have been utilized by another patient. To ensure fair scheduling and adequate compensation for our therapists, we kindly request a minimum of 48 hours advance notice for any appointment cancellations. Patients who give 48 to 24 hours notice will incur a $150 cancellation fee. For cancellations made 24 hours or less notice, 75% of the treatment cost will be collected. Cancellations day of, the full rate will be collected. Late cancellation fees will be charged to the credit card on file. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
No-Shows: Clients who miss their scheduled appointments without prior notice will be considered "no-shows." A fee of 100% of the treatment cost will be applied to compensate for the missed appointment.
Late Arrivals: If you arrive late for your session, please understand that the duration of your treatment may need to be shortened to accommodate other clients with subsequent appointments. Your therapist will evaluate the remaining time and determine if a full treatment can still be provided. Regardless of the actual length of the treatment, the payment for the originally scheduled session will be required. I kindly request that you plan accordingly and arrive on time as a gesture of respect towards your therapist and fellow clients.

In relation to our cancellation policy, we would like to clarify that any deposits made for packages are non-refundable. This means that once a deposit has been secured, it cannot be returned or reimbursed under any circumstances. We encourage you to carefully consider your commitment before placing a deposit. Liability Waiver
Client Consent, Waiver, and Release of Liability
I, the undersigned, wish to participate in massage therapy and related treatments provided by a licensed massage therapist in association with Chi BioEnergetic Healing LLC, located at 718 De La Vina Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101. In consideration of receiving such services, I hereby acknowledge and agree as follows:

Purpose of Treatment
I understand that all treatments offered are intended to support healing, relaxation, and overall well-being, and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment of illness, injury, or any other medical condition. I agree to consult with my physician regarding my health and any medical treatment I may require, both before and during participation in these sessions.
Practitioner Scope and Responsibility
I understand that Brent Kee is not functioning as a physician, nurse, or emergency medical technician, and that Chi BioEnergetic Healing LLC assumes no responsibility for my medical condition. Should my health status change, I agree to discontinue treatment and consult my physician before resuming.
Treatment Methods and Modalities
I give permission for the practitioner to operate beyond the standard massage therapy scope of practice and to use any techniques or modalities deemed appropriate for my treatment, including electrical stimulation devices such as Scenar, Cosmodic, or ENS; chiropractic-like or ballistic adjustments; vibration plate therapy; cupping; and any other methods the practitioner deems necessary to support my healing.
AI Scribe Consent
I acknowledge and consent to the use of a secure, HIPAA and PIPEDA-compliant AI scribe tool for accurate and comprehensive session documentation. This technology allows the practitioner to remain fully attentive during sessions while maintaining a precise clinical record. Recordings are encrypted, used solely for documentation, and never shared outside the practitioner’s secure system. Consent to the use of this AI scribe is a condition of receiving treatment, as it forms an essential part of the practitioner’s documentation, safety, and professional standards.
Assumption of Responsibility and Risk
I acknowledge that participation in these treatments is entirely voluntary and that I am solely responsible for deciding to participate. I have had the opportunity to ask questions about the treatments and this consent form and have received satisfactory answers. I understand that treatments may involve physical touch and carry inherent risks, including possible injury. I may decline or stop any part of the treatment at any time.
Release and Indemnification
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with treatment and hereby release, indemnify, and hold harmless Chi BioEnergetic Healing LLC, Brent Kee, and all affiliated owners, officers, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, demands, injuries, losses, damages, or expenses (including attorney’s fees) arising from or related to my participation in these treatments.
I have read and fully understand this consent, waiver, and release of liability. I am signing it voluntarily and acknowledge that it shall be binding upon me, my heirs, and legal representatives.
Covid Protocol
At Chi BioEnergetic Therapy, my utmost priority lies in maintaining a safe and conducive environment for bodywork, health, and wellness. As part of our commitment to implementing the Chi Massage Method, I diligently adhere to all government and CDC mandates, directives, and guidelines. Moreover, we have implemented several additional measures to enhance your sense of safety and relaxation during your time on the massage table. In addition to fulfilling the legal requirements, I go the extra mile by thoroughly sanitizing the oil bottles, oil bottle holsters, and every component of the face cradle after each client. These items are then set aside and not used again for a minimum of 24 hours. These additional precautions are designed to optimize your comfort and peace of mind throughout the entirety of your massage experience.
